Philadelphia Employment Lawyer

One very famous Philadelphia resident was recently in need of an employment lawyer. Philadelphia Eagles star wide out Terrell Owens was suspended from his team due to his conduct in the weeks previous, which included insulting the teams quarterback, Donovan McNabb. For the Eagles management, Owens' tactics had become too much, and they felt that he had breached his contract. Owens' contended that the Eagle's knew what they were getting into when they hired him.

As the team and the player went to arbitrate, it became apparent that football players are just like employees anywhere - albeit much higher paid. They have certain rights, but also certain obligations. When they fail to meet those obligations, their contracts can be terminated. The flip side of this coin is that no employer can fire and suspend you without first giving a good reason for it. When Terrell Owens hired his employment lawyer, Philadelphia residents may have recognized that he was attempting to say that his employers had failed to give a valid reason for his firing.

If you are an employer or and employee and you feel that your rights have been violated, hiring a Philadelphia employment lawyer is the best first step to take towards seeking redress for that violation. While Terrell Owens was suspended ostensibly for conduct unbecoming of the team, employees in the rest of the world are often fired for reasons that are not properly explained - or for no reason at all. With a Philadelphia employment lawyer by your side, you can make sure that if they fired you for an unjust reason, they will be forced to pay.

In the Terrell Owens case, it was found that the Eagle's decision was just, and that the reasons they gave were enough to merit a suspension. If you are an employee, there is no reason to believe that this will mean that you cannot win your case. With a qualified attorney, anyone who has the facts on their side can go into court with confidence in a victory.
